Colorado Develops Preparedness with Diverse Populations

Over the last few years The Colorado Emergency Response Division has bettered its ability to adequately prepare for emergencies in a way that included everyone, including people with disabilities and people who speak different languages. Problems initially identified included language barriers, lack of understanding and institutional lingo between the various state, federal, and local emergency management agencies and planners, and the allocation of limited resources.
